Carriageworks October 2008

This installation had several flavours, depending on the day of the week and time of day.
After a great opening event, with interactions between performers and audience, we settled into the attendants role. Small performance events rose and fell during the day, with a really experienced team of improvisers.
A free workshop in sound composition was delivered to three different groups of children, involving multi-channel environmental recording, manipulation and mixdown to pieces that the participants then emailed to themselves. Quite a depth of focussed listening was achieved, as well as an exploration of the possibilities of free and/or demonstration software.
The interior location was extremely echoic, and filled rapidly with children and adults. So this installation was a dense and busy experience that reverberated the lofty Carriageworks space.
